JAMES OWENS RIDING FOR AIDEN
What am I doing? - Riding over 1000 miles in under
24 hours by motorbike, starting in Liverpool - Glasgow - Edinbourgh - London - Cardiff - Liverpool. Verified by the IBA http://www.ironbuttuk.org/ and by the Blue Knights Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club http://www.blueknights.org/
Why am I doing this? - My little 12 year old cousin
Aiden has muscular dystrophy and wants to give something back for all the help he has had over the years and so has set me
a challenge on his behalf.
What is muscular dystrophy? - Approximately one in every 3,500 boys worldwide is afflicted with Duchenne muscular
dystrophy with 20,000 new cases reported each year. It is a devastating and incurable muscle-wasting disease. By age 10, braces may be required for walking, and most patients are
confined to a wheelchair by age 12. The outpatient
cost of care for a non-ambulatory DMD boy is among the highest of any disease. There is currently no cure for DMD, but for the first time in decades, there are promising therapies
in or moving into development.
You can send well wishes to Aiden; please leave a message at his
forum. Thank you, James
