I would like to welcome two new members to the Iron Butt UK team.
Firstly we have Gail Bullock IBA 28690. Gail has completed two IBA rides, a SS1000 and a E2E Gold. Gail aims to be the first UK Lady (i use the term loosely) to complete THREE IBA rides. Gail will be the secretary/Administration and will help me with UK Ride verifications which should speed up the process.
Gail's email is gail@ironbuttuk.org

Secondly we have Rick Allies, IBA 4001. Rick has also completed 2 rides a SS1000 and BB1500. Rick's claim to faim is that he was  awarded his IBA number way back in 1998 while some of us hadnt even heard of the IBA. Rick will be helping us with on the ground stuff at Rallies and Meetings etc. Ricks email is rick@ironbuttuk.org
Watch out for these two Iron Butt UK Team members and wish them well when you see them, or better still, drop them a line.

NEW UK RIDE NEW UK RIDE NEW UK RIDE

I have just received confirmation from the IBA that my proposal for a 4 corners ride in the UK has been accepted

The ‘Corners’ are as follows:

Lands End.          England

St David’s Point.  Wales

John O’Groats.   Scotland

Lowestoft.          England

It is understood that these points are not the geographical land points but Lands End and John O'Groats MUST at some part or the ride be incorporated in any order, then it was also natural to include Wales in the ride. Note you dont nessesarily have to do an End to End ride as part of this, Do the 4 Corners in any order you want

This is a major achievement for the Iron Butt UK and its riders. The ride has more than SEVEN options to complete

The route is around 14-1800 miles dependant upon starting point as follows

Anti clockwise

 Start JOG, end Lowestoft 1,475

Start St David's, end JOG 1550

Start LE, end St D 1,896

Start Lowestoft, end LE 1778

Clockwise

Start JOG, end St D 1535

Start Lowestoft, end JOG 1475

Start lands, end Lowestoft 1763

Start St D, end LE 1882

There are more options for this ride which will all be looked at. As long as all 4 corners are visited in the time allowed go which ever way you want.

What I need is someone who would like to test ride this new UK ride and be the first to get their name on the list. It’s a 36 Hour ride and we can then look at it in detail to see if it can be done quicker, as a gold ride or changed to a 48 hour ride. Safety is the key. I’m not looking for someone to do this at breakneck speed. An average for the whole ride of 50mph is sufficient for all IBA rides except Gold’s.

Interested, then email me ASAP at roger@ibaeurope.eu or roger@ironbuttuk.org

I ride, 3 Countries, 4 Corners, 8 Options, 1 amazing experience

SCUK SS1000 ATTEMPT

Harley Davidson Riders from the Surrey Chapter UK are planning on atempting to complete a group Saddlesore 1000 ride during the weekend of 21-22nd june 2008.
The riders wil be raising money for the Mouth cancer awareness foundation, a very worthy cause. So far the riders have raised an excellant £1,500 for the foundation and hope to at least double that before the ride. preparation and planning is well underway and their route will take them some 1, 100 miles around the UK including Perth Glasgow and Bristol. Based around Guilford, the Surrey chapter are prominent fund raisers every year.
Trent Holmes is in te unenviable position of having to organise the ride which he hopes will bring along between 10-15 riders. Get ready to hear the thunder of Harleys in June as they attempt the ride.
For information on how you can either join the ride or send sponsorship monies contact Trent via the chapter web site on www.surreychapter.co.uk
Good luck guys
