On the 21st June 2009 202 riders entered what for them was to be their first Long Distance Ride. The aim was to raise funds for the Poppy Appeal. 187 crossed the start line, 173 finished raising well over £10,000 for the Poppy Appeal.

Dave Pevalin who not only did the ss1000 but then did another 500+ in 12 hours to bag a Bunburner 1500 award
Also some might be aware that Pete West completed a Bunburner 1500 Gold award in the same 24 hour period as everyone else. A BB Gold is probably the toughest ride to do in the UK because of road and traffic issues, over 1500 miles in 24 hours. Tuff Stuff


Breakdown is 173 finishers, 9 pillion and 164 riders. OUTSTANDING EFFORT. WELL DONE
